Notification Settings

In an online class, regular communication between instructor and student is vital to student success. Follow the instructions below to set your notifications as recommended by the Holmes eLearning Department.

Click Your Name at the top of the Canvas Global Menu.

Click Settings to be taken to the place where you can add different ways to be contacted.
- In the Ways to Contact section, add any additional email addresses that you would like to use to be contacted.

Click Notifications to set your notification preferences. To change a notification for a contact method:
- Locate the notification and click the icon for the contact method.
- Select one of the following notification frequencies:
  - Notify immediately
  - Daily summary
  - Weekly summary
  - Notifications off
- Holmes eLearning recommends that you set Notify immediately for Announcements, Conversations, Submission Comments, and Content Link Error at a minimum.
